HILMA SHIKWAMBI
Hilma is a National of Namibia, with over 20 years of experience in Midwifery practice, education, and regulation and strengthening associations. An accomplished Midwifery leader.
Hilma has professional and leadership experience at both international and national levels in the development, planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition services.
She advocates for resources for midwifery, the importance of midwifery education and regulation as well as creating an enabling environment for Midwives. She is a founder and the first president of the Independent Midwives Association of Namibia (IMANA). Hilma served as the Board member of the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) representing Anglophone Africa.
