As Chief Nursing & Midwifery Officer of Jhpiego, Dr. Pandora brings over 25 year experience in the USA, Caribbean, South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa. A Bermudian born and raised She has served in a variety of roles from homebirth practitioner to fertility expert to adjunct professor at large high volume clinical sites after graduating from Johns Hopkins University, the University of California Los Angeles and the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the United States.
A former International Confederation of Midwives Board Member representing the Americas, she is also a fellow of both the American College of Nurse - Midwives and the American Academy of Nursing. She has worked closely with Ministries of Health, multilateral organizations, and healthcare organizations to provide strategic, clinical and programmatic assistance in global, regional and country level programmes. Her expertise spans regulatory process/curriculum development, leadership development and workforce capacitation. She continues to devote a portion of her time to “catching babies” socioeconomically and culturally diverse practices in Metropolitan areas. She believes in women who sit in circles as she bridges midwifery theory to practice and action. Whether through -global health initiatives, healing modalities, administrative, policy advocacy or clinical duties, she is known for encouraging midwives to “push for change past the perineum” both within and outside of the systems
